Kebbi State Police Command has Burst syndicate of suspected network installation vandals in Jega local government area of the state.
The Command's Public Relations officer CSP Nafiu Abubakar made this known in statement issued to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi saying that, based on credible intelligence, a Sharon Ford vehicle, ash in colour, with registration number, Abuja, ABJ-581-HL, was seeing wandering in Jega town.
According to the statement, the vehicle was parked around Jega roundabout, upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Jega, immediately swung into action, trailed the vehicle and succeeded in arresting one Abdullahi Muhammad of Durbawa area, Sokoto, Sokoto state.
He added that, searching the vehicle, the under mentioned items were found, two digging bars, one hacksaw, two scissors, one Hammer, one cutter, one solar panel, twenty one spanners, twenty one battery head covers, one helmet and shirt, one wire cutter, two screwdrivers and six touch lights.
During preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to have specialized in vandalizing batteries of network service installations across Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Niger, and Nasarawa States and mentioned one Nasiru Galashi, Yahuza and Aminu who are still at large, as his accomplices.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Birnin Kebbi, for a discreet investigation with a view to intensifying efforts to arresting the fleeing members of the syndicate and ensure diligent prosecution.
