Zamfara First Lady hails Zuru Women for promoting peace, unity in the state

The Wife of Zamfara state Governor also the First Lady in the state, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal has commended the women of the Zuru Emirate Progressive Association (ZEPA), Zamfara State Chapter for their exemplary spirit of unity, love and cooperation.



This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen signed by the Press Secretary office of the First Lady, Rabi Yusuf in Gusau Sunday.

The statement maintained that the commendation was conveyed by Hajiya Luba Ammani Permanent Member Teacher's Service Board,who represented the First Lady at a special gathering held at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau, during the association's cultural day and Fund Raising event.


In a speech read on her behalf, the First Lady expressed deep appreciation for the collective efforts of the women in promoting peaceful coexistence and mutual support among themselves and other communities across Zamfara State. 

She described their conduct as a true reflection of the values of compassion, togetherness and the strength of amongst women.


"As mothers, sisters, and builders of homes, your contribution to the peace and progress of Zamfara State is immeasurable," she said "I want to assure you that my door is always open, not only to the Zuru women but to all women and communities across the state, she added.

The First Lady further urged women to remain united and steadfast in their efforts to build a stronger and more inclusive Zamfara, where every community feels a sense of belonging and every woman has a voice. She also called on the gathering to continue supporting the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, noting that his administration remains committed to fostering peace, unity and development for all communities in the state.

Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal also donated the sum of 1.5 million Naira to the association in support of their efforts.


In her response, the chairperson of the Association, Mrs. Victoria Mathias Aniko Dabai expressed heartfelt gratitude to the First Lady for her continuous motherly care, support and encouragement to women across the state. 


She described Her Excellency as “a compassionate leader and a true mother to all women in Zamfara State,” and assured that the association will continue to support her initiatives aimed at promoting peace, empowerment and unity among women.
