The Zamfara State Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal, has called on the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps Members deployed to the state to join his administration in accelerating development across key sectors.
The Governor, made the call on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony held at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, UBEC Training Centre, Gusau.
The Governor noted that the state is making notable achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other critical sectors, and emphasized that the skills and energy of Corps Members are essential to sustaining this progress.
Governor Lawal who was represented by his deputy urged the corps members to see themselves as development partners and not mere participants in the compulsory one-year national assignment.
“Zamfara State is recording significant improvements in our schools, hospitals, and various infrastructure programmes across the state". Said Governor Dauda
"Your expertise as teachers, health workers, engineers, ICT professionals, and innovators is highly needed."
The Governor called on corps members to join hands with the government to consolidate the gains we are making.
He further reassured the Corps Members that the government will continue to give premium attention to their security and welfare, adding that the state government would maintain its culture of prompt payment of allowances, with additional incentives for those posted to vital sectors such as health and education.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC Zamfara, Mallam Muhammad Lawan Ahmed, praised the Governor for his support to the Scheme disclosing that the current batch of corps members include a high number of medical and allied health professionals to boost the state’s healthcare delivery system.
Ahmed also applauded the discipline and enthusiasm displayed by Corps Members since the commencement of the Orientation Course and commended the outstanding community development projects executed by Corps Members in the outgoing service year.
He encouraged the new corps members to emulate the achievements of their predecessors and contribute actively to their host communities.
