The State Minister for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle has been relocated to kebbi State Today.
The development followed by the directive given to him by President Bola Ahamed Tinubu to ensure the safe release of the kidnapped students of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School Maga, in Danko Wasagu local government area of the state.
Briefing newsmen at the government house Birnin Kebbi, Matawalle said that, President Bola Ahamed Tinubu has worried about the unfortunate incident and urged the minister, security agencies to strategies more efforts to rescue the schoolgirls and reunite them with their parents.
He assured smooth coordination between the security agencies and Kebbi State as well as federal governments to work together
through kinetic and non kinetic approach
to achieve the desired objectives as a lot of security equipments were deployed to the state
Commenting on the withdrawal of the military personnel while on duty at that area, the minister said those on duty at that very day were apprehended and investigation is on adding that, any one found wanting he will face wrath of the law.
Matawalle also commiserated with the government and people of Kebbi state over the recent incident and sympathize with the families of the staff of the school whose lost their lives while trying to protect their students.
Responding, Governor Nasir Idris of the state, said federal government can't do it alone, state governments have to contribute to make such security challenges as things of the first.
The Governor also blamed soldiers working in the school promises for negligence to duty by causing security havock and urged federal government to find out the reason behind their absenteeism to duty.
