ZAMFARA STATE RURAL WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION AGENCY (RUWATSAN) TO REHABILITATE RURAL WATER FACILITIES

The Zamfara State government has approved the rehabilitation of rural water supply facilities across the state as part of its commitment to improve access to safe drinking water for residents.
The announcement was made by the Program Manager of the Zamfara State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Dr. Galadima Abubakar Nasiru during a meeting held in his office on Friday.
Dr. Galadima explained that the rehabilitation exercise, which is expected to begin soon, forms a major component of Governor Dauda Lawal’s Rescue Mission Agenda, aimed at improving the living conditions of rural dwellers and addressing the persistent challenges of water scarcity in many communities.
He commended Governor Dauda Lawal for his unwavering commitment and continuous support to the development of rural areas across the 14 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to Dr. Galadima, the project will cover the rehabilitation of 30 Solar Motorized Boreholes and 248 Hand Pump Boreholes across the 14 LGAs. He added that the initiative will not only restore broken down water systems but also strengthen sanitation services, improve public health, and enhance the overall quality of life for rural communities in Zamfara State.
